WEST KOOTENAY OFFICE



Beth Woodbridge, Administrative Assistant
Beth joined FWCP in 1995 and has more than 20 years of administration experience with BC Hydro. She applies a broad range of administrative and public interaction experience to what she considers "the perfect job". As the front line person - the first voice you hear when you call the Nelson office - Beth views her role as: "I'm here to help people who are interested in the Program in what ever way I can".




John Krebs, Crew Lead
John Krebs, the FWCP’s long-time Senior Wildlife Biologist, is now serving as the Crew Lead. With the new title comes new management responsibilities for John who will continue to oversee the delivery of wildlife projects with the assistance of the both staff and contract biologists. John has been working with the Compensation Program since 1992 and is well-known across the Columbia Basin. He has published more than 15 reports on his research work and is an active member of the East Kootenay Conservation Program, the Ecosystem Restoration Steering Committee, and the Northern Leopard Frog Recovery Team.





Irene Manley, Wildlife Biologist
Irene Manley brings close to 15 years of applied conservation and research experience to the Fish & Wildlife Compensation Program. Before joining the FWCP Irene worked in the East Kootenay and coastal B.C. on forest and marine bird research and inventory. She has worked extensively with species-at-risk and has several years of experience in the Columbia Basin where she has focused on the inventory and habitat requirements of rare and endangered birds. Irene has a M.Sc. in wildlife biology from Simon Fraser University, a B.Sc. from the University of Victoria and is a Registered Professional Biologist.




Amy Waterhouse, GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Coordinator
Amy Waterhouse is the GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Coordinator for the FWCP. Amy works with staff and associated consultants to provide GIS data analysis as well as map and report production for their projects. Liaising with a variety of ministries and agencies to develop data standards and facilitate data management, she helps ensure that all groups are working with the same accurate data when developing plans for the conservation of species.




James Baxter, Senior Fisheries Biologist
James has been working as a professional fisheries biologist for more than 15 years. Before joining the Fish & Wildlife Compensation Program, James worked as a Senior Natural Resource Specialist with BC Hydro (Castlegar) and was an independent fisheries consultant. He has worked extensively with government agencies, industry and First Nations in the Columbia Basin. His project work has focused on fisheries research and management, environmental impact assessments and hydropower and fisheries conservation issues. He has authored many papers and presentations and has a M.Sc. from the University of British Columbia where he studied the ecology and population dynamics of bull trout.




Steve Arndt, Fisheries Biologist
Steve has worked for the FWCP since 1996. Prior to that, he was involved in fisheries work in Ontario and New Brunswick. He has a biology degree from the University of Guelph, a Master of Science from University of New Brunswick, and a technical diploma in Fish and Wildlife from Fleming College. Steve's main interests are in fish population dynamics and fisheries management, and he has published studies on salmonid growth in relation to environmental changes. His current duties include monitoring the effects of reservoir fertilization at upper trophic levels, and working with stakeholder groups on stream restoration projects.





EAST KOOTENAY OFFICE



Larry Ingham, Wildlife Biologist
Larry has been involved in wildlife compensation programs in the Columbia Basin since 1992. As well, he has extensive experience in the region as a wildlife biologist for Ministry of Environment, B.C. Conservation Foundation and the Kootenay Wildlife Heritage Fund. Larry is a Simon Fraser University graduate in Biology and a B.C. Institute of Technology graduate of the Fish, Wildlife and Recreation Program. His habitat enhancement proposals have been recognized with two awards of excellence from the Habitat Conservation Trust Fund. Larry is a registered Professional Biologist.
